Read the Commission report to the IAR® Board of Directors

The Real Estate Commission has one Commission seat and one Education Council seat open effective July 1, 2008. Both seats are 4-year terms for residents of the south central district of Idaho (Blaine, Camas, Cassia, Custer, Gooding, Jerome, Lincoln, Minidoka and Twin Falls counties). Applications are due no later than June 1, 2008.

Are you interested in being a Commissioner? An applicant must be an actively licensed Idaho broker or associate broker with at least 5 years active licensed broker experience. The Governor appoints members of the Real Estate Commission. Click here to access the form to request an appointment. Apply through the Governor’s office website.

Would you like to serve on the Education Council? Commissioners appoint members of the Education Council. Send a letter of interest to the Real Estate Commission, including a summary of your education and real estate experience and why you are interested in serving on the Council.

IMPORTANT CE INFORMATION!

The Commission has revised its policies regarding acceptance of continuing education courses. If a course is not certified in Idaho or an accepted professional designation course, you MUST request CE credit from the Commission by submitting the REE153 Form posted on our website, together with all attachments.

The course will be reviewed to decide whether it fits within the Commission’s approved CE topics. You will be notified of the Commission’s decision by e-mail, and we will also send you a receipt showing the number of hours of CE credit awarded. You will not be audited if the Commission records show you have met the CE requirement for renewal or reactivation.

* Check your education record online
* Submit any courses you have taken that don’t show up in IREC’s records
* Make sure you have taken 16 hours of electives plus one Core course to renew or reactivate

Idaho law (Chapter 20, Title 54, Idaho Code) charges the Idaho Real Estate Commission with administering and enforcing the license law for real estate brokers, salespersons and certain business entities, and with administering the Idaho Subdivided Lands Disposition Act (Chapter 18, Title 55, Idaho Code).
To meet these mandates, the Commission seeks to protect the public interest, which includes both the interests of the regulated licensees, and the interests of prospective buyers and sellers of the services of these regulated licensees.
