Course Descriptions & Outlines

The following courses are developed by the Idaho Real Estate Commission:

Brokerage Management: How to set up and run a real estate brokerage office; emphasizes the application of management techniques required for the brokerage operation. (Required broker prelicense course.) Download the course outline.

Business Conduct & Office Operations (BCOO): Designed for brokers, sales associates, and office staff to learn procedures for trust accounting and maintaining transaction files in accordance with current license law and rules. (Required course for Idaho designated brokers.) Download the course outline.

Commission Core: Annual course effective July 1 of each year covering changes in the license law and hot topics. (One Core course required each 2-year renewal period for Idaho licensees.) Download the course outline.

Real Estate Finance: Introduction to real estate financing, the sources and application of funds, commonly-used financial instruments, institutional structures and policies, and loan processing. Must be familiar with the use of a financial calculator. (Broker prelicense elective course.) Download the course outline.

Real Estate Law: General principles of law governing interests in real estate (not intended to be a substitute for competent legal counsel). (Required broker prelicense course.)

Sales Prelicense Module 1: Study of fundamental real estate concepts, designed for the beginner in real estate. (Required sales associate prelicense course.) Download the course outline and PowerPoint.

Sales Prelicense Module 2: Study of the knowledge and applied skills involved in listing, selling, buying and closing residential property. (Required sales associate prelicense course.) Download the course outline and PowerPoint.

Valuation & Analysis: Introduction to the appraisal process and the different approaches, methods and techniques used to determine the value of various types of property. Emphasis will be on using the process as it pertains to residential brokerage. (Broker prelicense elective course.) Download the course outline.
